Some dents in the side of the case, September 14, 2015

When the box arrived I opened it up and loved it right as I looked at it. After looking at the side I noticed 3 big indents in the side of the case i’m currently planning on fixing it with a rubber hammer but i’m a bit surprised it had them cause the packaging and the box had no big signs of damage. I really don’t feel like going through the process of ordering another one and waiting for it. Well besides the indents I really like how the case looks and the features it comes with. This is gonna be my first computer build. I’m pretty excited! :UPDATE: I have finished building my computer and everything works great. I didn’t have any issues when building with this case. Only note is I recommend buying better fans if you are going to be gaming or doing any high performance things with your computer to keep it properly cooled with good airflow. Overall case is cheap and works well with nice features (USB 3.0, LED’s, etc) and has a nice aesthetic look to it.

    PROS:
    + x2 USB 3.0s + x2 USB 2.0s
    + Supports large graphic cards
+ Has SD card reader and micro sd card reader in front
    + Cool look with LED’s
+ Comes with power supply air filter (not the best)
+ Has legs on bottom to keep off ground
+ Has some room for cable management behind mother board

    CONS:
    – Only can hold x2 2.5 inch hard drives
    – Cheap fans with short fan wires
    – No instruction pamphlet
-Cheap (but light and seems pretty durable) case material

    Ending Note:

Overall this case suits my budget and suits my needs perfect I do recommend this case to people on a budget. If you are not on a budget invest more money in your case IT MATTERS!!! You get what you pay for!!!

VIVO MID SIZE tower case, December 11, 2015

Don’t know why people say its too small or noisy fan. It’s a MID SIZE CASE!!! if you going to MOD the hell out of it, or add large component and lots of hard drives or SLI your video cards, or liquid cool. You should look for a case called FULL SIZE case. The FAN, I almost order 3 fans for the replacement of this case , be course the write up saying fan too noisy. I waited.. when It came in and installed all the component. The Fan is not noisy to me. (maybe I’m loosing my hearing..lol). I’m glad I didn’t waste my money ordering extra fan. NOT NEED TOO. I end up not connecting the LED lights for the power button. Too bright!! has a nice low red glow front fan, looks great!! Love the case for a mid size. Minder: the USB connectors are UPSIDE DOWN. Be course the SD card reader and audio jack are very close together, no room for design to fit both in same panel.

Purchased specifically for the built in card reader and it corrupts EVERY SD card placed in it!, April 25, 2017

This review is from: VIVO ATX Mid Tower Computer Gaming PC Case / Black Red Desktop Shell / 3 Fan Mount, Dual USB 3.0 (CASE-V03) (Personal Computers)

UPDATE: July 2017: I’ve given up on this case! It has proven to not only corrupt every SD card inserted into the built in card reader, the card reader not longer works at all, and one of the fans has failed/quit. This past week my area experienced hotter then normal outdoor temps….the computer started shutting down….after investigating, I discovered it was from overheating. After going through all the components, and finding them sound, I suspected air flow in the case. BINGO! I swapped all the components into a Cougar Volant case, and the overheating ceased. In fact the machine runs approx. 10C cooler in the Cougar Volant case then is this one. I’m done forever with VIVO cases! Shoddy workmanship, poor components, and a short life. I’ve had better results using cases 1/2 this price. Save yourself some grief and buy another brand of case!

UPDATE: May 2017: The first couple of times I used the built in card reader on this case it seemed to work. So far today it has corrupted 5 different SD cards! I have spent the last few hours troubleshooting the issue, and everything points to the built in card reader. Since I purchased this case based on it having the built in card reader….and the fact that is doesn”t work, I am lowering my review to 1 star.

Overall this is a good case for the money. I purchased it specifically for the built in SD/TF card reader, that seems to work well.

Pros: -Built in SD/TF card reader
-Two 120mm fans included (fan work well and are quiet)
-SOME of the bays are “tool-less”
-No sharp edges as in many similar priced cases
-Has reset switch on the front panel (many cases do not)

Cons: -Only SOME of the internal bays are “tool-less” (hard drive bays require screws)
-Front Panel USB ports are ALL UPSIDE DOWN!
-Front panel fan (included) has a single fixed position, with no option for movement…meaning that unless your careful, one or more installed
3.5″ hard drives can contact the fan blades, stopping the fan.
-Documentation states there are 2 SSD bays, but I could only locate 1, and it’s difficult to install a SSD into that area.

Overall the case is OK for the money. I’ve personally owned a number of “high dollar” cases, and beyond them having added “bells and whistles” that I never need/use, can find no reason why some $100+ case cost what they do in comparison to this case. Where it not for this case having a build in card reader, I would have gone with a Cougar Volant …. it’s been by far my favorite case over the years.
